Diners often rave about the home-cooked meals, with standout dishes like the steak and ale pie and the classic chicken parmo receiving high praise. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits. Many enjoy the vibrant live music nights that add an extra layer of fun to the experience. The pub also boasts an impressive selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, making it a great spot to unwind with friends after a long day. Families appreciate the kid-friendly environment and changing tables, ensuring everyone has a good time here.

Most Disliked

Some patrons have found the turnip in dishes to be a bit coarse, though this is a matter of personal preference. Occasionally, during peak hours—especially Friday lunchtime—the service can feel rushed, leading to longer wait times. A few reviews mention that while the ambiance is lovely, it can get quite busy, making it a bit noisy at times. A handful of visitors feel the pub's charm occasionally gets overshadowed by the crowd, particularly during popular weekend dining times. Another minor concern is limited parking during peak hours, which can pose a challenge for some.

Just been for a meal here tonight, was made to feel very welcome with my partner, lovely food, excellent service, friendly staff and kept asking if everything OK………. Couldn’t do enough to make our evening more enjoyable. Will be back again. All the best to the new owners for the future.

I got a takeaway because I didn't have time to sit in before work and omg deans dinners are actually better than I remember them. Only tiny complaint is the turnip needs blitzing a little more but that's personal preference and you can please everyone. Everything else was cooked perfectly

What can I say! Wow! Came by chance on a Wednesday apprehensive in remembering how poor service I had received previously, but really glad to find out that new owners have transformed the atmosphere and menu. Steak night is amazing value at £24 for 2 steaks and a drink! Food was well presented, high quality beef and very well cooked and prepared. Will definitely be back to try the fantastic looking burgers and parmos! Thanks

Very nice food for a good price. Very nice and friendly staff. Went here for a meal for my daughter's birthday. We brought a cake ourselves just in case. Was no problem for them. They brought the cake out and sang happy birthday for my daughter.

Spur of the moment decision to go out for a meal, we were not disappointed, we had the Chicken Parma and it was absolutely gorgeous, the wine and beer were very refreshing, atmosphere friendly and served by a lovely couple. Nice and clean (no tacky tables here) we will definitely be returning.

We arrived at 5.30pm today (Tues) to be told they were fully booked - it was Steak night! Then said if we could be out by 7pm they could fit us in - so glad they did. Service, food (Steak & Ale pie) were exceptional. The young staff were excellent. Definitely will be back, though will book to ensure a table.
